Incredible value for money. We went to the breakfast buffet and had an amazing time. There's a huge variety of food, both savoury and sweet, with lots of it made fresh in front of you, and all of it was so delicious. Honestly can't pick a favourite food, it was all too good. There was a nice range of vegetarian and vegan options available, all clearly signposted. The tea, coffee and juice all tasted great, too. Seats were comfy, tables well spaced, and the place has nice acoustics, so even when it was pretty full of diners it was never too loud to hold a conversation. The staff were lovely and attentive without being overbearing or feeling like they were hovering. When I made the booking I noted that it was for my partner's birthday and, at the end of the sitting, they surprised us by bringing out a delicious chocolate cake with a candle and 'happy birthday' piped out of chocolate. It was the perfect way to finish off our visit. We'll definitely be coming back again, highly recommend!

27Oct25 My partner and I dined for lunch on a Monday to celebrate his birthday. We arrived ten minutes early and were allowed through to our table, a booth by the window. We ordered glasses of the Bollinger Special Cuvee ($35 each), as it was a special occasion and we received a generous pour. We asked to look at a wine list to purchase a bottle of wine to accompany our meals. We chose from an extensive list on an ipad. We chose the Henschke Nebbiolo which was lovely. We ordered four oysters ($28) and two lamb empanada ($20 for two). The oysters were so fresh and the empanadas were delicious. Ordered these from previous reviews. I ordered the eye fillet, rare ($68). Cooked to perfection. My partner ordered the Bone in Sirlion ($78). He was initially disappointed that the steak was sliced, but said this was one of the best and tastiest pieces of meat he has eaten. We ordered 3 sides, ($14 each or three for $38). We had the charred brocollini, thick cut chips and swiss chard + leek gratin. Broccolini and chips could have been a bit warmer and the leek gratin was quite sloppy and a little under-seasoned. The steaks were the stars of the day and that's what mattered the most. After our plates were cleared, a plate with happy birthday written on it with a couple of macarons and fresh berries was brought singing happy birthday to my partner. Very nice and thoughtful touch. We really didn't really need dessert, but ordered the Baked Cheesecake with seasonal berries ($19) with two coffees. The service was amazing. We had one of our best dining experiences and can't wait to go back.

We had a fantastic birthday lunch at Collins Kitchen inside the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, opting for the Express Lunch menu. The service was the highlight—truly attentive and friendly, making our celebration special with a surprise plate of macarons and a Polaroid family photo! Regarding the food: the goat cheese custard entrée was absolutely divine and a must-try. Our brisket burger and feta pie mains, served with generous sides of chips and slaw, were delicious and very filling. While the buttermilk fried chicken had good flavour, it was a little too oily for my liking. Overall, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend Collins Kitchen for a lovely meal and impeccable service.

Collins Kitchen is absolutely amazing! Such a memorable experience from start to finish. The staff are so lovely and make you feel really looked after, and the menu is just incredible. The atmosphere is truly special — we were lucky enough to be seated in a booth overlooking the city and I honestly felt like a princess. The perfect spot for a special date night. Can’t wait to come back!

We very much enjoyed our Sunday buffet lunch here however there were a few disappoints only regarding the hot food choices. The roast meat was pork porcetta and this was lukewarm and did not have crackling skin. The pizza option was 2 choices which were pre made and therefore sat for a long time as they were not well made or inviting. Could you not have a pizza bar where pizza is made to order and toppings are the customers choice. The yum char popular choices also ran out. Staff were wonderful , drinks were great and the seafood, salad , cheese and dessert choices were wonderful Would eat here again but would not eat the hot stations options
